3 Xbox Announcements Microsoft Must Make On The 21st (But Won't)
1. A New Game From Rare
Yes I know the Rare of today is far from the Rareware we all remember, but any studio is wasted when left to churn out overpriced avatar items. Rather than going out and buying an entire studio or building one from the ground up like 343i and Playground Games; it would seem far more logical to just hire some talented individuals who could go in and revive Rare.
With the May 21st event in Redmond scheduled to last just 60 minutes and E3 being just two weeks further down the line, its likely well only see two or three games next week. Seeing Battlefield 4 running on a next-gen Xbox would be all very exciting but Microsoft really should stay away from third party titles, and it's surely too early for another Halo entry. This is where a new Rare game could make a splash with something bright, inventive, and most importantly unexpected. What better way to get gamers pumped for E3 than to show that Rare is back and that the magic has been rekindled.
So why wont Microsoft do any of these things? Well 40 million active Gold members says people are happy to pay for the privilege of online play. Packing a Kinect in with every box wont be cheap, best believe theyll want you to use it. Finally, well I stopped truly believing in a Rare comeback a long time ago... but its nice to dream.
What do you think about the suggestions above and what else would Microsoft be foolish to leave out of Tuesdays reveal?
