Although it's often regarded as a lesser Diablo imitation, Torchlight 2 is still a great game in its own right. While some even argue it does a lot of things even better than its closest rival.

It may have the same action-RPG look, but unlike the po-faced and deadly serious Diablo, Torchlight is full of humour and colourful touches. With multiple character classes, skill trees and co-operative multiplayer, the game was universally acclaimed on its release, selling over a million copies.

Plus, you get a cat or dog that can nip back to town to sell your loot; begging the question: why doesn't every RPG have this?
