Just ahead of its press conference, Sony announced that the long-awaited Media Player has been added to the PS4, and surprisingly, supports not just AVI and MP3, but also MKV, MP4 and a litany of more esoteric video and audio formats. It's pretty damn unacceptable that it's taken over 18 months for Sony to implement such a basic feature, one which the Xbox One has had for nearly a year, but at least it's finally here, and contains far wider-reaching support than anyone surely expected.
