5 Brilliant Remixes Of Legendary Game Scores You Need To Hear

5. Corneria (Metal/Rock Remix) from Star Fox €“ Daniel Tidwell

Daniel Tidwell is a YouTube sensation who has cut out an impressive fan following over the years with not just his videos of guitar covers of popular VGM but also numerous CDs and digital downloads that span over 3 generations of consoles. One title in particular is his cover of the 1st level of both Star Fox for the SNES but also the sister title of Star Fox 64 on the N64. The song itself, whether you are listening to the polyphonic based SNES music or the re-mastered N64 version, generate feelings (a recurring subject in this article) that tell of a high adrenaline adventure that is just beginning and by putting a metal edge to the song, Daniel has only served to enhance the aforementioned feelings 10 fold. The remix is primarily Tidwell with a guitar but some of the poly-symphonic sounds are maintained for effect. Daniel has gone on to contribute to several musical endeavors, both VGM related and otherwise and as previously mentioned, has released numerous CD's and digital downloads of his works. I personally recommend his works on Chrono Trigger, Street Fighter and Final Fantasy if you are looking to get a sample of Mr. Tidwell at his best.
