Though Rooney has had a stellar career and recently became England's record goalscorer, his form for Manchester United has really dipped in the last twelve months. By his standards, 14 goals in all competitions last season was pretty average, and the England man is currently undergoing the longest domestic goal drought of his career. He can feel lucky to be given an 86 overall rating this year.

Cavani, on the other hand, has just won the domestic treble with PSG, and scored 31 goals in all competitions. The Uruguay hitman's 85 overall rating seems pretty harsh considering he wasn't always used as a striker last season - and he still maintained his ridiculous goalscoring form.

Whether Rooney can turn around a poor start to the season remains to be seen, but Cavani has certainly shown no signs of losing his goalscoring ability - bagging two goals in PSG's opening four Ligue 1 fixtures.
