5 Ways Naughty Dog Can Avoid Killing Uncharted

1. The Next Uncharted Must Be For A New Generation

Uncharted does not need to say goodbye forever. But, after hogging the limelight for a decade, a lengthy adieu is necessary for it to be missed.

With a universally adored epilogue concluding with Drake and Elena's daughter, Cassie, learning about their wild escapades, Naughty Dog gave fans hope for the future.

Playing as Cassie Drake is a far more enticing prospect than continuing the adventures of either Sam, Sully, Cutter, Chloe, or Nate and Elena, and this is because it would mean having an entire new cast of lovable and refreshing acquaintances.

Additionally, Nathan could perform the role of Sully, and this would allow for another emotional - yet far cheerier - father-daughter journey similar to The Last of Us.

Furthermore, embarrassing dad-jokes could take up half of the dialogue, and Naughty Dog would be able to naturally continue the motif of obsession by having players and Cassie be continually reminded that they are dangerously following in the footsteps of her notorious dad.

Yet, Drake is again an instrumental component because without him to accompany Cassie, Uncharted would be in peril of solely being about a treasure-hunting girl who wishes to mirror her father's success, a.k.a. Lara Croft.

Still, a next generation cast and protagonist, with plenty of winks to the past, is the direction Sony's prized franchise needs to take in order to feel different and new.
