50 Memorable Moments That Defined The Last Gaming Generation

31. I Slept With An Alien, And All I Got Was These Lousy Complainers

Mass Effect Sex Why sleep with a boring, bog-standard human when you can get it on with a frisky alien blue love temptress who is totally into you regardless of your gender? Yep, it's Mass Effect's infamous love scene where Commander Shepard gets it on with Liara, his/her lovely alien companion. Although it was handled pretty tastefully, forging a relationship over hours of gripping gameplay and storyline development, the media once again got wind of the alien sex scene in ME and promptly went on the warpath. Many politicians, media outlets and general prats started mouthing off about full graphic sex, alien loving and how it was all evil and hideous. They hadn't even played the game and many of them ended up eating a big old plate filled with their words and humble pie after realising they were talking firmly out of their backsides.

30. An Immigrant, An Irishman And Another Irishman Walk Into A Bank..

Three Leaf Clover ...and steal loads of money, shoot a guy and fight off an army of police in an absolutely epic mission throughout Liberty City. Yep, it's GTA IV's best mission, the inspiration for the awesome heist missions in GTA V. Whereas most of GTA IV's missions were pretty cool (with some mundane ones thrown in, of course), Three Leaf Clover, as it was known, was an absolutely awesome showcase of open world mission design. Who could forget this mission? Whether it was holding up the bank and ensuring no-one presses the alarm, heading down the vault to steal money, shooting at the police through the bank's doors or a thrilling escape through the underground subway system, this had all the panache of a Hollywood blockbuster but put you at the controls.

29. This Was A Triumph...

Still Alive I'm making a note here, huge success. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction. Aperture Science... Now that I've got that on a loop in your head, it's time to celebrate the excellent ending to Portal. I love this song far too much, and I still think it's the best credits sequence ever on anything. Imagine my joy when I learned you could play it on Rockband! I've sung it very badly, many many times.
