Rami Malek portrays Joshua Washington as one of the eight controllable characters in dark horror game Until Dawn - a complex, flawed, yet brotherly figure to others in the group.
While Malek and his co-stars' performances were commended, critics found the acting to be obstructed somewhat by the game's limited motion capture technology. This criticism is actually highlighted most by Malek's extremely varied vocal performance, in which he gives utmost range and nuance - so much so that the motion capture can't quite keep up with it.
