7 Shared Universe Video Game Theories That Might Actually Be True

1. Ubisoft's Ubiverse

Ubisoft is perhaps one of the most plausible theories on this list as nearly all their games point to some form of shared narrative. The theory states Far Cry, Assassin's Creed and Watch_Dogs share the same universe and are actually all going to tie into each other.

There are numerous references throughout all the games to all the other games, with the Abstergo symbol being in Far Cry 3, a mission in Watch_Dogs involving the assassination of the CEO of Abstergo Entertainment (an event referenced in Assassin's Creed: Rogue) and a whole plethora more.

The theory goes further stating that the protagonist in Far Cry Primal was the first to discover and adopt the Eagle Vision abilities of the Assassin's and that his control of animals is stemmed from that ability, making him the first ever Assassin.

Ghost Recon is also woven in there with comparisons between the different games' tech. It's supposed that Ghost Recon is a flash forward in time, showing what a more futuristic assassin would look like. The similarities between the hacking tech and even certain in world interfaces make interesting connections to Assassin's Creed and even Watch_Dogs.

Plausible? Yes, and chances are the most likely of all the theories to actually be put into place.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
