Paying respect to what came before you should be written in stone and hung around the necks of every single person in the world. Because in fairness, it’s only when society forgets its mistakes that everything happens all over again.

The video game industry and media in general needs to learn that, especially seeing as they love trying to pull a reboot every couple of years - more often than not making a mess of it.

To that end, the entries here took a brilliant concept - a PROVEN concept in fact - and managed to screw the pooch so hard that the RSPCA bust down their doors.

Somehow, even when copying from the perfect formula, time and again video game developers have scribbled all over the place.
