8 Best 7/10 Games Of All Time

And finally we have Nier, which might be the most quintessential "7/10 in our minds, 10/10 in our hearts" game ever made.

Even for the standards of 2010, the original version of the game looked immensely dated visually, and worse, the environments were straight-up boring for the most part.

Add to this the bland combat and repetitive side quests, and Nier is an extremely flawed game. But it's also one with a profound sense of charm elicited through its story and characters, and let's be honest, it's just really hypnotically weird.

Plus, the music is unforgettable, the voice acting terrific, and it does more than a few unexpected things with its gameplay that slyly pushed the envelope.

It really just laid the groundwork for the vastly superior Nier: Automata and also its own much-improved remake, Nier Replicant. The O.G. Nier is ultimately a clunky, ugly ducking that proves just how far a little personality can go.
