4. Child Of Light

Using the same engine as the much-loved Rayman Legends, Child of Light is a little bit more ambitious and experimental than the adventures of the limbless one. It's a visually stunning 2D platformer with a dreamlike hand-drawn style, and a focus on puzzle-solving and exploration in the vein of Metroid, rather than just left-to-right traversal.

The whole game can be played through cooperatively, with one player controlling the princess Aurora, while the other is a little blue orb called Igniculus, who can light the way for Aurora, help her solves puzzles, and even get his blue-hot little head stuck into battle.

It's a way more laid-back experience than most other games on this list, and the perfect dessert after few hours filling up on the meat of Borderlands, or as a way of helping patch up relations with your pals following a bitter, high-intensity game of Rocket League.
