At the time of release, the Xbox and PS2 were selling themselves based on their graphics, launch titles and DVD compatibility – the latter proving to be crucial for many customers, as entertainment systems became truly multifunctional for the first time.

Instead of adhering to this innovation, Nintendo did as they do best and come up with something no-one asked for: tiny game discs. Akin to the Game Boy Camera and Printer combo, who the hell asked for this to happen!?

The diddy discs may have been utterly bizarre, but can you remember the overwhelming sense of surprise when you first opened the case to see one? They’re STUPIDLY tiny and STUPIDLY impressive when you think about what’s stored on them - who doesn’t want tiny discs once again!?
