8 Convoluted Video Game Narratives NOBODY Understands

I think we all knew that this was going to make it onto the list really didn't we? To be fair it's not without warrant as the now plentiful memes about Kingdom Hearts narrative are powerful strong! However I'm going to at once defend the game as I deride it, because Kingdom Hearts, as a story is not actually that complicated, however the way it tells this tale about darkness, hearts and friendship truly is.

This is because there are just too many damn Kingdom Hearts games and each of them so, so bloody long and when you've got a narrative which is as simple as "The Darkness Is Bad, Stop It However You Can" this means you have to add in turns, twists, and unnecessary characters by the boatload in order to pad things out.

This means the real confusion of these games come from how much there is to remember at any given point, even if most of this boils down to generic goals of good and evil.

Making matters worse is that in some games, narrative plot points and character bios are hidden as collectible Ansem reports meaning you could easily lose track of what plot you are given because Square Enix thought it best to make motivations optional. This is not a dumb series but it's delivery truly is at points.
