8 Convoluted Video Game Narratives NOBODY Understands

4. Resonance Of Fate

It's a shame that while Resonance of Fate's combat and characters are soaring overhead, the plot is scraping its arse along the floor like a dirty dog.

Now put your hand up when I lose you; The game takes place in a city that has risen above a now polluted surface and is ruled over by those at the very top of the spire. These lazy, fat, rich idiots decide to build an AI that will help with population control, kind of like Logan's Run. The AI goes rogue, because of course it does, and it's your mission to battle through the city and unplug this glorified car battery.

So far so simple...ish right? Well now add in a church that worships the AI, child soldiers who are being grown to be resistant to the poisons, a facet of the AI that means people can't die before their allocated time, but yes they can, but the end boss can't die because he believes in a higher power beyond the AI, so the group just decide to....let him go....and go live in the poison....and DON'T DIE?

Yeah, it....doesn't make much sense no matter how many times you play through it.

Jules Gill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
