8 Reasons 2017 Is Finally The Year To Buy An Xbox One

3. Project Scorpio

Who fired first in the new next-generation of consoles, Sony or Microsoft? Does it even matter any more?

The PlayStation 4 has done brilliantly, eating up the goodwill and market share the Xbox 360 earned during the last console generation by being powerful for developers, popular with gamers and offering a massive library of games - both exclusive and multiplatform.

That said, Project Scorpio is the iterative, loud, tub-thumping response to both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Pro. Promising backwards and forwards compatibility with Xbox One, VR capability, all kinds of technical and graphical wizardry, Scorpio is designed to jump ahead in specification than even the PlayStation Pro.

Bold moves indeed. Here's hoping buying an Xbox One now will lead to decent trade-in leverage during "Holiday 2017" when this monster hits retail.
