4. Minty Fresh! - Saints Row IV
The Saints Row games have never been ones to take themselves seriously. Hell, even their pseudo GTA-clone of a first game had moments so over the top it was like playing through a Saturday morning cartoon. As the years passed the series' grip on reality has spiraled out of control and in its current state, I don't think any of us know where the franchise can go next.
Of course, it wasn't just the pedestrians and law enforcement that took a punishing by the Saints, as sometimes the player was also dragged into the fight club of mocking jibes with the game calling them out and in the case of the trophy "Minty Fresh!" seeing just how far they'd go for an achievement.
In the mission "The Fight Before Christmas", the player stumbles across a door that has been barred with a giant candy cane and is presented with two options, either go around this blockade or... lick your way through the giant minty treat. Now the game HEAVILY implies that there is no point licking your way through... but... it's giving us the option, so something must happen right?
Well, you'll be licking away for a solid five minutes or so if you do want to go down this route, upon which you will actually lick your way through! Only to find the door is still locked.
Huh. Well at least we got the trophy... that was worth it... right?
