8 Video Game Products We NEED In Real Life

If only these amazing fictional items were real.

What are video games if not wish fulfillment? They provide players with the ability to do so many things they can't or shouldn't in real life, and also allow us to interact with items which, sadly, don't even exist in our mundane reality.

And it's impossible not to consider the real-world applications of said objects and products, which if they were tangible in the real world would make a significant impact on humanity and society as we know it.

These video game objects all have incredible properties, from the potential to tinker with time to the ability to re-live the experiences of our ancestors, and so it's tough not to lament that they can't be experienced in the waking world.

Granted, some of this tech would spell ruin for humanity as a whole were it available because, as has been proven so many times, we just can't have nice things.

All the same, on an individual level it'd be amazing to use these tools for a personal advantage, or even to just make day-to-day life a whole lot easier and more convenient...

8. Ambrosia - The Sims

In the more recent Sims games, your Sims can chow down on the mysterious meal known only as ambrosia - a dish which won't merely nourish them, but has some seriously potent side effects.

Ambrosia will also boost a Sim's mood and even reverse the ageing process, resetting a Sim's age back to the start of the life phase they're currently in - baby, child, teen, adult, or elder.

And so, ambrosia theoretically allows a Sim to keep continually dialling back the biological clock as long as they maintain stockpiles of the dish - which, admittedly, is one of the game's toughest to prepare.

Oh, and if that's somehow not amazing enough, ambrosia is also able to revert ghosts back into corporeal, living form.

It really doesn't have to be said why this would be a fascinating breakthrough for humanity as a whole, even if widespread availability of ambrosia would also inevitably lead to overpopulation and societal collapse.

Still, it sure would be nice to stay in the same age bracket for as long as one would like, simply by noshing a fancy meal every so often.
