8 Video Game Products We NEED In Real Life
4. The Animus - Assassin's Creed
And now we come to quite arguably the wildest piece of technology on this list - The Animus from Assassin's Creed.
The Animus is a machine which allows the series' protagonists to relive the genetic memories of their ancestors, translating said memories into a virtual reality simulation sandbox for them to explore.
This is of course predicated on the notion that genetic memory is actually a thing, which the scientific community generally accepts it isn't - at least not in the sense implied by Assassin's Creed.
All the same, if technology existed which allowed us to explore simulations of the lives of our ancestors innumerable generations in the past, people would be cancelling their Netflix subscriptions in short order and becoming addicted to the Animus.
To basically go back in time via the world's most sophisticated VR machine and experience an ultra-immersive approximation of your own lineage, while having little personal risk to your own safety, is just bonkers.
Sure, there's the mild risk of the bleeding effect causing said genetic memories to become intermingled with your own, but it's (probably) a small price to pay for the potential to explore your own genetic past.
