8 Video Games From The 2000s That Deserve A Film Adaptation
2. Prince Of Persia (2008)
As far as video game film adaptations go, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was moderately entertaining.
There was, however, a lot left to be desired. If Walt Disney Pictures want to add another successful, fantasy-esque film to their library, they would be wise to adapt the Prince of Persia reboot. This game offered a new take on what the franchise was known for, with the setting and general story taking inspiration from Zoroastrianism.
The pairing between The Prince and Elika was also highly praised, as their interactions genuinely felt comparable to Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher's chemistry from the Uncharted series. The Mummy, starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, would be a good starting point to base their relationship off of as well. Both are charming and witty enough for situational humour, but headstrong enough to get their mission accomplished, as well as being there for one another's weaknesses.
Focusing on The Prince and Elika first and foremost, with Ahriman being the Imhotep of this film, can lead to not only an excellent time at the movies, but also a resurrection for one of gaming's most beloved franchises.
The source material is there, and it merits being translated onto the big screen.
