8 Video Games That Made You Regret Killing Bosses
2. Dead Rising
Granted, the moment you come across Dead Rising's psychopath Cliff Hudson he doesn't seem to evoke much sympathy, quickly showing himself to be a brutal maniac with a rather twisted penchant for meting out violence on anyone he crosses - alive or undead.
Cliff, a traumatised Vietnam War veteran, swiftly tries to slice you to ribbons during the boss fight, believing you to be a member of the Viet Cong. However, after you defeat him a decidedly more depressing picture emerges.
As Cliff lays dying on the floor, he hands his wallet to protagonist Frank which contains a picture of his darling granddaughter.
Cliff reveals that he "lost it" after witnessing his granddaughter be devoured by zombies, the brutal act triggering his trauma and transporting his mind back to the Vietnam War, causing him to violently dissociate ever since.
Only in his dying moments does Cliff return to reality, and even though players weren't given much of a choice but to defend themselves, it sure doesn't feel good to kill someone suffering through basically the worst thing imaginable.
