How many of us actually know about Louisiana Voodoo? Despite numerous uses of voodoo dolls and many stories invoking the use of Marie Laveau in their narratives, there are barely any truly informative and immersive forms of entertainment that accurately portray the deeply spiritual beliefs of those who practice Voodoo.

Based on cultural practices and religious ideals of Central and West Africa, Louisiana Voodoo was a product of French Louisiana and the colonial slave trade. Due to the large influence from French Louisiana, the location itself became a cornerstone of the spiritual way of Voodoo.

Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers takes place in New Orleans - the heart of Louisiana Voodoo. The story of the game is blanketed with Voodoo themes and imagery which drive the plot forward and put together a creative and unique story that you don't see anywhere else.

Through the game, you'll be introduced to rarely explored topics like French Creole, spiritually important objects such as vévés, and Voodoo intermediaries called Loa. Try finding any of these parts of human history in your run-of-the-mill history textbook. It's rare that you will.
