8 Video Games With Playable Cut Content

1. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic 2
Obsidian Entertainment

A Star Wars RPG as the first major project for a fresh-faced studio? Talk about jumping in at the deep end.

To make matters worse, LucasArts' mandate specified that Obsidian had an absolute maximum of 16 months to get the sequel in a retail-ready state. Not an easy task, considering the latter's employee count, post-deal, numbered in the single digits.

Naturally, as the team grew, so did ambitions, but as deadlines approached, Obsidian found itself forced to scrap massive quantities of content, including dialogue, alternate endings and even entire subplots. Rather than delete the files from existence, Obsidian left them dormant on KoToR's disc, a treasure trove of untapped potential that modders would, years later, discover and restore to full working order.

As of 2016, the Lost Content Mod is in a finished state and fills in the blanks Obsidian was forced to leave. The entire list of restored elements is too gigantic to list off here, but highlights include the cut planet M4-78 and the HK Factory level.

The best part? You can download the entire package, hassle-free, directly from Steam. God bless the modding community.
