9 Best Celebrity Appearances In Video Games

1. Martin Sheen - Mass Effect 2

At the start of Mass Effect 2, we know absolutely nothing about The Illusive Man. The shadowy manipulator behind the Cerberus organization is a controversial figure amongst characters in the game - some call him a visionary, others call him a power hungry extremist. And as a player, all we know about the Illusive Man for sure is he's voiced by Martin Sheen.

The casting of Sheen in this game may seem a bit token at first. His voice is fairly ordinary by voice casting standards (not especially deep or full of gravitas) but still recognizable enough to be a selling point. But his casting in this game is more than just a gimmick because of his history as an actor. Known for his portrayal of morally resolute characters in The West Wing and The Departed, he sounds reassuring at first.

But then we remember this is the same actor who nearly went insane in the Jungles of Vietnam for Apocalypse Now.

It is that iconic role that Bioware seems keenly aware of, as the Illusive Man is viewed in silhouette for nearly all of his scenes, recalling the famously backlit Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now.

Are we actually working for a madman this whole time? Or are we listening to Uncle Ben from The Amazing Spider Man?
