9 Massive Video Game Rumours That Would Dominate 2016

2. Resident Evil 7 Finally Making An Appearance

Likelihood: 7/10 Sometimes a developer releases a sequel so shockingly out of touch from what, the fans were expecting, it leaves a life scar on a particular franchise that takes quite some time heal (just ask Mass Effect). Resident Evil 6 first came out way back in 2012, its over-the-top quick-time event action focus making quite the impression in all the wrong ways, as fans began to detest the direction the series had taken. It pushed back the idea of another main instalment into the ether, and in that time Capcom would slowly rebuild their fanbase through remasters of the classics, alongside the awesome Resident Evil: Revelations spin-offs. Now, midway through 2015, a statement from games research firm, SuperData highlighted that they "anticipate month€™s downturn to level off during the coming few months, following a regular seasonal pattern but expect to see an upswing as the next editions of several major franchises like Halo and Resident Evil come out in the 2015 fall season.€ SuperData have been known for predicting past releases like GTA V and even World of Warcraft, and whilst Resi didn't hit this imaginary window, Halo 5 most certainly did - reframing the question around Resi to more of a "When", than an "If".
