9 Reasons You Shouldn't Buy A PS4 Pro

The super-charged PS4 is just a tiny bit lacking right now.

The original PS4 on steroids, the PS4 Pro launched November 10th, and plays your games in incredible 4K resolutions, better framerates, and gorgeous HDR colour, with a slightly improved controller and a larger hard drive than the stock PS4.

The Pro is effectively a mid-generation upgrade, built for the best performance possible in PS VR and 4k gaming. Plus, as there isn't a single game in the PS4 game library that's Pro-exclusive, it won't make the original PS4 obsolete

Yes, alongside the brand new PS4 Pro, Sony will still sell and support the classic PS4. In fact, they just launched a brand new, slimmer version of the base PS4, at a cheaper price point. At first glance, this might be a little confusing - which one should you buy if you're just getting into the PS4 for the first time? And if you own an old PS4, is it time to upgrade?

Well, unless you're absolutely dedicated to the latest and greatest in tech, maybe not yet. You see...

So you put Bloodborne into your PS4, all the updates come and go... And the game doesn't look nearly as good as the console menu did, its framerate chugging in at sub-1080p.

Yes, not all the games in the PS4 library are supported by the PS4 Pro's higher specs. As it turns out, there's actually a lot of games that aren't whatsoever - and quite a few are the PS4's standout exclusives.

While Knack gets an upgrade, actually fun games like Until Dawn, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Killzone : Shadow Fall, and even Bloodborne all haven't been updated to use the PS4 Pro's new power.

While it's understandable for third-party outings - like The Witcher 3 - to not put development time into a patch update, it's basically inexcusable for exclusive games, developed or published by Sony themselves, to not see the least bit of improvement.
