Sports Gamers Online are reporting that Yuke's staffer Bryan Williams has decided to ditch the ongoing AEW: Fight Forever project in favour of a move to WWE 2K.

Williams was previously a senior game designer for THQ when they had a working relationship with Yuke's and handled WWE's video games. Now, the designer has elected to leave Yuke's behind and return to the WWE fold as part of 2K's team.

Of note, Williams helped redevelop the creation suite that 2K currently uses in their games. That, of course, has expanded to become 'Community Creations', and is one of the most popular aspects of the entire WWE 2K franchise.

Bryan will reportedly start working for 2K later this month.

WWE 2K22 has been touted as a major success for the much-maligned 2K. Their prior effort, WWE 2K20, launched to scathing critical reviews and was derided for game-breaking bugs. In contrast, 2K22's release has been silky smooth.

AEW's own game, subtitled 'Fight Forever' still doesn't have a nailed-on release date. Recent footage of the game did show off some improvements to character models, live crowds and mid-match animations though.
