Animal Crossing: 10 Wonderful Tiny Details You've Probably Missed
1. Mr. Resetti IS In The Game...Maybe
Mr. Resetti is one of the most iconic characters in the Animal Crossing franchise. This infamously-cranky mole exists solely to remind players to save their progress, else he will subject them to a near-interminable torrent of verbal abuse. Resetti has garnered a mixed reception from fans; some see him as an incredibly-creative fourth wall breaker who provides useful information by way of tough love, while others were so afraid of him that Nintendo made encountering him optional in New Leaf.
Unfortunately, the Switch's autosave feature left the divisive Resetti without a job this time around... or did it?
One of the most commonly-overlooked apps on your Nook Phone is the Rescue Service app, which allows players to transport to a safe location if they get stuck. Looking at it, you can see that the airplane is wearing a construction hat and appears to have whiskers. Additionally, if you ever call the Rescue Service, the theme that plays in the background is a reorchestrated version of Resetti's theme from the previous games.
There are also some hints in his dialogue, which include his gruff speaking style (ex: saying "ya" instead of "you"), the occasional second voice that can be heard on the line (which is likely his cousin, Don Resetti), and him occasionally mentioning that you "can't reset things here on [your island]," among a few other things.
While it's never been outright confirmed to be Mr. Resetti, all indications seem to suggest that it is. Good to have you back, you lovably-annoying little fella.
