Assassin's Creed Origins: 11 Early Reactions You Need To Know

An amazing new protagonist but game-breaking glitches? Sounds like Assassin's Creed.

After taking a year off, Assassin's Creed is making a return to consoles with a new Ancient Egyptian look in Origins. Spending the time off addressing criticisms and promising an experience that shakes up the classic series formula, Ubisoft have apparently been dedicated to creating a title that can launch the franchise back into the spotlight.

Switching up the setting, revolutionising combat and adding in even more features, previews have indicated that the development team have used the extra time wisely, but with reviews and impressions now pouring in, let's find out whether or not the title is a grand return to former glories, or just another nail in the coffin for such a prolific series.

Thankfully, early impressions have started to trickle through from outlets who have had a chance to take the game for a spin, as well as players who were lucky enough to get it early, and honest opinions on the sequel can finally be accessed.

With players wondering whether Origins is the sequel they've been waiting for or another misstep, if these impressions are to be believed, it's not quite either...

11. It's Full Of Bugs And Glitches

Despite taking a year off, it looks like the latest Assassin's Creed is still haunted by the same problems that crippled previous entries in the series. In particular, Origins is said to be full of bugs and glitches that rival those seen in Unity, ranging from hilarious visual goofs to frustrating crashes.

With reports of players getting stuck in loading screens, character models not rendering correctly and the game's A.I constantly freaking out, right now the game seems to be in an unstable state.

A pre-day-one patch has already been released, but with the majority of early impressions coming from playthroughs with this already installed, it doesn't look like the update has done much to improve the title's technical shortcomings.

There's been rumours that Ubisoft are working on getting another patch out before Friday that should fix some of these problems, so hopefully the sequel will be more stable come launch day.
