Assassin's Creed Origins Review: 6 Ups & 5 Downs
4. Using Senu To Tag Enemies Is Unreliable And Gets Old Fast
We've gone from Eagle Vision to an eagle's vision, but never has Assassin's Creed ever mastered - in a reliable and seamless fashion - the ability to tag a 3D environment's worth of enemies.
MGS V had multiple solutions like punching the ground to send out a shockwave that auto-marked foes, aiming the camera at them or just having companion D-Dog around also did the trick. Here we've got Senu, who every time you get close to an objective the game insists you pilot around, arbitrarily tagging enemies from above using a focusing reticule to make sure you're aiming in the right way.
Thing is, although this vision/sound "thing" can penetrate walls and caves, there's no way to know you've marked everyone, and simply because there's no unlockable "Just show me everyone nearby" perk, forces Senu's vision mode into the game in a way that breaks immersion and gets you spotted constantly.
