Assassin’s Creed 3: 10 Reasons It’s Awesome

1. The Performances

Back in the first days of 3D gaming, dramatic performance was considered secondary to non-existent. If you weren€™t reading blocks of text you were listening to awkward dialogue that was often delivered by the poor guy at the dev€™s office who drew the shortest straw. But that was then. This is now. Modern games are beginning to rely as much on solid, dramatic performances as movies. When you play AC III, one of the first things you€™ll notice during the cut scenes is how incredible each central performance is; how facial muscles subtly tweak and twist with emotion; how the body language conveys character; how the eyes seem to constantly move, drinking in details. This is invariably thanks to new performance focused motion capturing in the AvilNext Engine; with it Ubisoft now have the ability to mo-cap multiple actors at once, allowing them to effectively perform the scene together as drama intended. And they're passing the dramatic succulence on to you! It€™s not often I€™ll specifically comment on the performances in a video game, but AC III is a special case indeed. Ubisoft really have invested time and effort into all the right areas, performance €“ for me at least €“ being one of the big€™uns. So there are ten reasons why Assassin€™s Creed III is awesome and you should willingly hand over your hard earned cash to Ubisoft right away, if you haven't already. Anything we might have missed? Disagree entirely? Do let us know! Assassin's Creed 3 is out now on Xbox 360 and PS3 and is due out on the 20th of November on PC.
