Assassin's Creed: Ranking All The Assassins From Worst To Best
9. Jacob Frye
Jacob Frye could have been one of the most interesting and fun characters in modern gaming history, it's just a shame Ubisoft tried to pass him off as an Assassin in Assassin's Creed.
With the sting from the reception of Unity still very much on the minds of both Ubisoft and the franchise's fans, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is perhaps the first real example of the series leaping from historically-themed stealth-adventures to, well, whatever it is now.
In a franchise where Assassin's have always stood as stoic, peaceful and restrained figures, Jacob is brash, aggressive and loud. All of the stealth and sneaking that made characters like Altair and Ezio so iconic are practically non-existent with this Victorian renegade, and the real truth about Jacob is that, a lot of the time, he really doesn't help to make situations any better than when he first found them.
Jacob and Assassin's Creed: Syndicate really landed during a time when Ubisoft seemed to be a bit unsure on where they wanted their series and their Assassin's to go, and the younger Frye twin at times really doesn't feel like he belongs in this series.
