Assassin's Creed: Syndicate Reviews - 12 Shocking Critical Reactions You Need To See

8. Age-Old Problems With Climbing Are STILL Not Fixed

"Sometimes you'll kick off a wall when you meant to climb up or go up when you try to go down; this imprecision has characterized the series controls from the start." - Alexa Ray Correia, Gamespot
I'll get to the grappling hook in a bit, as it does seem to have shaken up the core formula in terms of what it feels like to mantle from place to place. However, as Alexa notes in her Gamespot review with a relatively small aside, it appears the problems the franchise has had since 2007 are still not amended. At some point this is just a result of Ubisoft refusing to gut out the old game engine and replace it with something more polished and functional. It's an issue that's going to tip people on the fence over the edge into negativity, and considering how many times it's mentioned year after year, is downright absurd it still has to be mentioned.
