Assassin's Creed Valhalla: 10 HUGE Questions Ubisoft Must Answer
7. What Are Loki's Schemes Now?
One of the key plot threads running through Valhalla
concerned Eivor and Sigurd’s connection to the Norse gods. And in one of the more
fantastical questlines, players were able to venture to Asgard to relive the
memories of Odin, which confirmed that Eivor was the reincarnation of the High
One himself.
This questline focused on Odin using the tree of life Yggdrasil to avoid his foretold demise at Ragnarok.
Likewise, this plotline also highlighted his rivalry with Loki, who vows vengeance on him after he imprisons and mistreats his son, Fenir the wolf. On the surface, the Asgard questline might seem like a fun distraction from Valhalla’s main questline, but its significance cannot be understated.
If players manage to complete all ten anomalies scattered throughout the game, they’ll unlock a cinematic that unveils the game’s biggest revelation: the Norse gods were Isu and Ragnarok was the catastrophe that wiped them out. Yggdrasil is the temple’s machine, Sigurd is the reincarnation of Tyr, and Basim, it turns out, is Loki.
Though he ultimately failed to kill Eivor and Sigurd in the temple, Basim/Loki did manage to survive them all.
The question is what could he be scheming now that he's got his wish?
