Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Things DLC Must Include To Be Worth It

8. An Engrossing Narrative

Something needed for any story DLC to be successful, the Arkham series would be nothing without its narrative. It's fantastic then, to note that Rocksteady have such an amazing selection of source material to work with. By far the standout of the Season Pass announcement, 'Batgirl: A Matter Of Family' will have players don the mantle of Batgirl before Barbara Gordon faced her unfortunate run-in with The Joker that tragically left her paralysed below her waist. More surprising however, is the fact that Rocksteady have chosen to take the Arkham series before the events of Asylum - an era left largely untapped bar WB Games Montréal's Arkham Origins. One can only assume that the content will heavily impact on the events of Asylum, but tenuous links and universe-building aren't needed to ensure that the content will have a story worth caring about. After all, Batman stories always work best when they're character-driven, and a standalone adventure featuring Barbara's time as Batgirl will do much for a character left largely unexplored in the Arkham lore as of yet. Both City and Origins had only one piece of story DLC each, but Knight is really ramping it up with expansions set not just for Batman and Batgirl, but for their allies too. This means that the season pass is quite literally rammed with content, so let's just hope story quality doesn't suffer as a result.
