Batman: Arkham Knight Batgirl DLC - 9 Big Things It Finally Gets Right

A Matter of Family outdoes Knight in more ways than one.

As the first in the line of add-on content for Arkham Knight's rather hefty season pass, 'Batgirl: A Matter Of Family' had an awful lot to live up to. Thankfully, it exceeds in every regard. Placing an emphasis on Barbara Gordon before she became paralysed at the hands of Joker, the DLC depicts a story that takes place prior to the event of Arkham Asylum - highlighting the Bat-Family's significance to the franchise before it was dismantled so mercilessly by the Clown Prince of Crime. It's appropriately dark whilst also cartoony - the two necessary elements for an exemplary Bat-tale. Contrary to what many had thought originally, the DLC in its entirety was created by the folks over at Warner Bros. Montréal - who many will know gave birth to Arkham Origins. Indeed, the developers prove to be right in their element in the prequel timeline, as a Matter of Family rectifies the many mistakes Arkham Knight made both in gameplay and in narrative - even if it could've done with more exploration. Coupled with a fantastic new set of moves and an engrossing new setting to boot, Montréal's tale of Barbara's tenure as Batgirl proves to be ample motivation to invest in Knight's season pass.
