Batman: Arkham Knight - Ranking All Batmobiles From Worst To Best

The 1989 version? Nolan's Tumbler? Adam West's?

Whether or not you like Arkham Knight's Batmobile, there's no denying the sheer effort that went into its creation. It's one of the most immaculately modelled designs in video game history, and it alone possesses enough memory to fill up an entire Xbox 360 game. With such a massive level of detail on display, it only makes sense that Rocksteady would aim to capitalise on it, even if it did end up having an oppressive focus in Knight's main story. However, the level of variety we've seen with the Batmobile today was never originally intended. Indeed, the car was initially limited to a few custom resprays and not the incredible re-imaginings that have now made their way into the game, which is very impressive again, even if they too were given a little too much attention in the season pass. Irrespective of whether or not you thought the Batmobile had a negative impact on Arkham Knight, there really isn't anything to stop you admiring the effort that went into its creation. Rocksteady clearly made a huge effort in its creation, and continued to build upon it each time a new batch of content dropped in new and inventive ways. So, whilst the Batmobile isn't really a boon to Knight's efforts in making a Batman game for everyone, it certainly showed off some truly extraordinary talent.
Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
