Battlefield 1: 15 Crucial Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You

12. You Need To Track Specific Medals This Time Around

Battlefield 1 Medals
EA

Unlike Battlefield 4, you won't be getting randomly rewarded with medals and experience points in EA's latest entry in the series. Instead, this time you have to actively select the medals you're trying to gain from the pause menu; often having to complete a series of in-game challenges (get some many kills with weapon A, capture so many flags on map B, etc.) in order to net the reward and the XP boost that comes with it.

Honestly, I prefer the old system that continually tracked your stats and handed out a wealth of medals for doing pretty much anything, but this new approach is only a small misstep in the grand scheme of things.

Plus, there's still plenty of bonus XP up for grabs, it's just that the medal system has definitely been relegated to the back of the Battlefield 1 experience.
