6. Maps Are Huge & 128 Player Battles Are Intense

As mentioned in the intro, this is the biggest Battlefield yet, and thankfully that scale translates into intense, varied firefights.

Though the first couple days of early access didn’t make the best first impression as players familiarised themselves slowly with the maps - discovering choke points and the general flow - now action isn’t difficult to find.

Each of the seven All Out War maps have distinct points of interest that are fun to battle over, encouraging a wide variety of play styles in the process. There’s a lot of flat terrain to traverse which isn’t always fun (especially with the lack of transport vehicles), but attacking points are mostly well designed, offering plenty of memorable moments.

One gripe from the beta was that even with the increased player count, maps felt empty. That’s thankfully not the case in the final release, and being a part of those huge fights offers a sense of awe that’s incredible when the game clicks.
