Thankfully, although fans have waited years for a follow-up to Battlefield: Bad Company 2, if the leak turns out to be true, they won't have too much longer to hold out before getting their hands on the sequel.

Like Battlefield 1, the next instalment in the franchise should be announced mere months before it hits shelves, with Bad Company 3 aiming for a fall 2018 release window, with a full reveal coming at either E3 or EA's own event earlier in the year.

Either way, the developers are due a Battlefield game before the next 12 months are out, so players shouldn't have long to wait to see if these rumours are true.
