Black Ops 2: 20 Reasons To Be Excited

9. Return of the Zombies

Thankfully for all of our sanity, Treyarch decided not to tease the inclusion of the Zombies Mode, instead just openly admitting that it would make an unsurprising return. And more modes can only be a good thing for a game series occasionally accused of a lack of variation. Mark Lamia, Studio Head at Treyarch, has stated that Black Ops 2€™s Zombie mode is the team's €œbiggest most ambitious Zombies effort€”ever," which may not seem like a massive claim until you think back to Black Ops, and how irresistibly good the mode was there. Those who have seen it already have professed that its scale is beyond anything we have seen before, though few have been able to give away too many details so far. What we do know is that the move over to the net-ready multiplayer engine this time means vastly more zombies, twice the number of co-op players (up to 8) and larger maps - basically speaking Treyarch are turning the mode up to 11. There's also a very interesting hint that we might see competitive modes - though possibly not using playable zombies - to go with the campaign mode that stands out as the other major boost for the mode. All extremely exciting stuff.
