Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 - 8 Mistakes Activision Have Already Made

4. Starting A New Zombies Timeline

Although Zombies is no longer Treyarch's baby, with every other Call of Duty developer getting in on the action and creating their own rendition of the iconic mode, it's their version that fans still look forward to playing the most.

That's partly down to the ridiculously complex storyline that's been spun across all their games, which has garnered a dedicated following over the years. Sadly though, with Black Ops 4, Treyarch are apparently doing away with all of that mythology and focusing on a new set of characters and a brand new storyline.

The new maps do sound pretty charming, all things considered, with the Titanic level in particular seeming like a standout, but considering just how much lore Treyarch have packed into its zombies mode over the past four games (including World at War), it's a shame to see them starting fresh here.

There's always the chance that old characters will turn up and the easter egg will tie into the old storyline in some way (Mob of the Dead may have been remade for a reason), but right now it's looking more like a clean break.
