6. Boss Battles Make Things Interesting
Speaking of adventure mode, another great feature to come from that is boss battles.
Similar to kart racers like Diddy Kong Racing, Crash Team Racing features one-on-one battles with some of the game's best racers.
These races have your character chasing the boss on their own map, with the races themselves being at a pretty high skill level.
To make things worse, the boss is able to basically spam items at you, so you need to play smart and try and keep as far ahead as possible.
Mastery of shortcuts and items is really what makes these boss battles fun, as they really do feel like a test of the player's abilities up until that point. It's much more exciting than just moving onto new races anyway.
Whether you love them or hate them, boss battles are still a unique inclusion that make adventure mode all the more interesting.
