Almost exactly one year since the game came out, it looks as though Sony Bend is ramping up production on a sequel to Days Gone. Though the project hasn't been confirmed, the team is currently recruiting for a bunch of different employees to work on a 'AAA' title, with key roles including a Senior Audio Programmer and a Rigging Technical Artist.

The former role is set to specialise in 3D audio for the project, which is a confirmed major feature of the PS5, and something Sony has not been shy about promoting. The latter focuses on building realistic characters, and will help create "cinematic-quality facial articulation" and "implement skinning methods to achieve realistic deformation for faces, bodies, and clothes."

With Days Gone being one of Sony's biggest surprises of the generation in terms of sales, it was inevitable that the company would greenlight more zombie mayhem, but this is the first official indication that Sony Bend are hard at work on the sequel.
