Dead Island Riptide To Retail At Only $50

With a console generation coming to an end, Deep Silver believes that the newest Dead Island game should see a $10 price cut.

Aubrey Norris, of Deep Silver, has revealed via Twitter that Dead Island: Riptide will be released at the lowered price of $49.99.

A retail posting on the web listed Riptide with a $50 price tag. As a result, members of Ripten inquired Norris about the listing who clarified that this was indeed the actual price for the game. Norris mentions that the reasons for reducing the price of Riptide is not because it is simply a remake of the original, but instead because it will be released towards the end of what is potentially the end of an entire console generation.

While $10 might not seem like a huge discount, it is certainly a welcomed change for gamers when a title retails cheaper than the full $60 price tag. Although, this can also result negatively, as many could easily steer away from the game with the impression that the lower price tag means a lower quality title.

Dead Island: Riptide was announced, out of the blue, during the midst of E3 chaos. Nothing was actually revealed about the title except for the title of the game, and the game's logo image. Now, many gamers will have an additional reason to put this one on their radar's. Check back to WhatCulture soon, as more information is set to be revealed about Riptide later this summer.
