Sony last night announced the long-rumoured Demon's Souls remaster at their PS5 event, confirmed as the project Bluepoint Games has been teasing for the past year.

Outside of the stunning trailer though, more information about the game has since been released, and it's going to be far more than a simple port. In fact, it's been confirmed that the game is actually being entirely rebuilt from the ground up; more of a straight remake than a simple remaster.

Adding that the game is set to be a showcase for the PS5, Sony peeled back the curtain on the next-gen features that are being added to the cult favourite, including "beautiful shadow effects and ray tracing."

Even better, the title will ship with two graphics options for players to choose, allowing them to prioritise resolution and fidelity or frame rate.

No release date was announced for Demon's Souls PS5, but expect to hear more on that front soon.
