8. New PVP Modes
PVP has become Destinys main sell since the release of Trials of Osiris; therefore its no surprise to see Bungie further developing the crucible. The Taken King features eight new crucible maps and three new modes (Mayhem, Rift and Zone Control). Rift is kind of like a combination of capture the flag and rugby. Both teams will have a base on either side of the map and a spark will spawn between the bases. Guardians must pick up the spark and battle through to the enemies base and destroy their rift. Careful though, once a guardian picks up the spark, they only have 75 second to get to the enemies base. Mayhem is just sheer carnage. In Mayhem, guardians will see there cooldowns reduced to the extent that your supercharge will refill roughly every 30 seconds, and your grenade every five seconds. I dont think well see too many guns in this mode, unless theyre golden. The third mode introduced and the one most likely to please fans is Zone Control. Zone Control is basically just control, but you wont score points from kills.
