DMC: Some Awesome New Stills From The Upcoming Devil May Cry Reboot

Calling all demon hunters. Dante is back and more emo than ever and while Ninja Theory's design choices might not be all that, these latest stills are looking pretty damned sexy.

Calling all demon hunters. Dante is back and more emo than ever and while Ninja Theory's design choices might not be all that, these latest stills are looking pretty damned sexy. Oh wait did I say sexy....I meant super sexy. Check out this bodacious babe. I have nick named her The Tick. This is for obvious and utterly rank reasons and while she is doing my arachnophobia no favours, she is one of the best demon designs I have seen in the DMC franchise. Then we have this serving of awesome sauce. Recent trailers (and this lovely image) have revealed that Dante's Demon Trigger mode gives him his original white locks and crimson duster. While this looks pretty cool, I am left wondering why they didn't just make him look like this the whole time and actually make him look demonic in Demon Trigger but whatever, it still looks bad ass. Another design feature is a sort of demon world real world transformation that environments go through. Pieces of architecture and scenery burst at the seems and bleed all over the place. Upon purging the demonic presence in the area things seem to pop back to normal. It is an interesting idea but is somewhat reminiscent of games like Okami and Prince of Persia. Hopefully it will be put to use in some mind bending spacial puzzles. We can but dream. Once again we are seeing more topsy turvy environments. It all looks very Salvador Dali but, that is a good thing. The vivid colours are more reminiscent of Bayonetta than the gothic/hellish locals from the franchise so far so, hopefully the reboot will give us a fresh new image of hell to play around in. Ah, the classic Devil May Cry sword play. New designs and plot reboots are all well and good but the success of DMC will be down to whether Ninja Theory can deliver on the action. With Bayonetta out doing Devil May Cry 4 in every conceivable way, Ninja Theory have their work cut out. Fingers crossed they will deliver and (oh pretty please) blow us away.
