8. Adjust HDR In-Game

If you're lucky enough to have a system capable of HDR, do not tweak the setting in the main menu.

Here you'll be given an arbitrary shot of a city burning, which is helpful enough, but not representative of what you'll be playing in-game.

Instead, dive into any level and angle your view towards a scene that displays the full gamut of brightness. Something with black, dark corners alongside piercing red fire or bright lights in the sky.

Now hit pause, go into HDR configuration and you'll be able to adjust all the game's sliders while looking at your vista of choice.

Much more effective.
