E3 2017: 6 Ups & 4 Downs From Bethesda's Conference
5. Doom & Fallout 4 Get The VR Treatment
If VR owners were worried they would be left out in the cold this E3, Bethesda quickly dismissed those fears by opening the show with the reveal of both Doom VFR and Fallout 4 VR.
Doom VFR appears to be a new game made in the style of last year's smash-hit franchise revival, and will release on HTC Vive and PSVR (though they did a horrible job of explaining the latter). The game using teleporting for locomotion is a little disappointing and there's no confirmation of Aim controller support for PSVR yet (and to be honest, it doesn't seem likely), but even so, Doom feels like a perfect fit for the VR medium.
Fallout 4 VR meanwhile appears to be a pretty straight port of the original game, albeit with the usual invisible VR hands, and will release on HTC Vive in October. No PSVR release seems planned, though, sadly.
